Our Youth Our Future

There is a critical need for prevention education around sexual violence for teenagers. Over the last year, Hope 24/7 has developed a professional collaboration to prevent sexual violence by developing a curriculum for adolescents.

Lessons are targeted for use in schools and after school settings to give youth accurate information and prevention skills around building healthy relationships.

Due to the nature of our services we strongly believe in providing a program that will enrich each student’s everyday interactions and help decrease the stress from being a teen. The increasing pressures to participate in inappropriate behaviours grows daily, as they may be exposed to drugs, alcohol, and sexualized activities.

By focusing on topics like body language and self image, teaches students the importance of self-care and respect for their bodies and others. Often, teens forget the value of themselves and can be easily persuaded to indulge in activities that put them at risk. Our sessions allow the students to ask questions about situations they may encounter and plot out the best solutions for the best outcomes.

When focusing on the second string in the Youth Wellbeing chart. A strong support system is crucial in maintaining a healthy relationship with your family and friends. During our sessions we share dialogue with the students, not only as a teaching tool, but to get their input on what works for them and what doesn’t. Building trust with each student is important in relaying feedback on each situation. In our session Dating Matters, we speak about trusting your gut and those close to you who you know have your best interest in mind. This topic always draws out different views from friends and families and can turn those you love away. We encourage each student to have someone to confide in and ask questions about when dealing with someone you love. Love can sometimes blind-side you with things that are not right, and put you in a position to get hurt. A support system is the key to your over all success and is needed to support your health and wellness.
